Experience
Minimum 5 years combined in general Datawarehouse, Business Intelligence report application development.
Minimum 5 to 8 years supporting Cognos.
Ability to design and understand data processes including loading, transformations, mapping, etc.
CS or MIS Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
2+ years experience with system administration or development experience with BI (Business Intelligence)/OLAP applications.

The successful candidates will understand and be current on SQL Server database technologies - 2005 and 2008 - from both a DBA perspective as well as a developer perspective. Must be familiar with SQL Database Architecture, Database Modeling, Database security, Database setup, Stored procedure development, T-SQL, and SSIS development.
"Under the supervision of the Manager of Systems Integration and Development, the database administrator/developer will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of database systems used to operate the infrastructure and technology platforms. The DBA/Developer will partner with business and technical groups to ensure that database performance is not hindered and performance standards adhere to service level agreements set with the enterprise.
Successful candidate will provide technical expertise on database development projects design; system integration; modify and develop Transact SQL and SSIS packages; manage database server security and set up. Will also perform various tasks such as performance tuning, database maintenance, log monitoring, data modelling, data extracts and troubleshooting."

Key Deliverables: Typical work activities usually include
Design, configure, implement, and administer all databases
Identify and resolve all issues related to database systems to ensure that systems are online and without service interruption
Design and manage the database disaster recovery and backup plan
Partner with development team and system analysts to design data management and governance protocols, manage the information life cycle, design infrastructure and data integration controls
Develop new and enhance existing standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines for database environments using industry experiences, best practices research, and business needs
Manage/modify database design to improve database performance.
Create/modify table relations to optimize query time.
Create/modify file groups to enhance database performance.
Logical data modelling physical data modelling.
Develop automated routines to load data from 3rd party systems/files
Develop automated routines to transfer data between systems
Documentation of databases
Develop of internal applications and reports
Develop data extracts and imports routines
Report development
Assist in the deployment of new systems
Assist Tier-1 and Tier-2 support staff as needed
Ensure all systems comply with corporate policies and procedures

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; or equivalent education/experience in the information technology field
Demonstrated ability solve highly complex database programming problems
4+ years administrating multiple SQL Server 2005/2008 database instances
4+ years of experience developing with SQL Server 2005/2008/2008
2+ years of experience developing solution with SQL Server Integration Services and Reporting Services
Knowledge of at least 1 programming language (C#, C++, VB .Net)
Experience using SQL Profiler
Experience in database performance tuning techniques
Experience in designing and implementing database structures
Experience with data modelling and schema design

o Exposure to running SQL Server in a virtualized environment
