This role is becoming pivotal in the Service Management domain, not only in driving forward deployment and use of the ADDM tool itself to effect discovery -- but also leading the analysis and iterative phases validating output with stakeholders and subject matter experts to refine the data and Service maps. Whether the client wants to decommission or consolidate server farms, decrease troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis time, automate audits, or eliminate the need to manually document the IT infrastructure. ADDM makes it happen. That*s where you come in!
Qualifications: * Strong experience in BMC ADDM (Tideway/Topology Discovery) Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Deployment * Experience with integration to BMC Atrium CMDB required * Experience developing, testing, and deploying The Pattern Language (TPL) patterns for custom Software Instances and Business Application Instances * Strong ITIL knowledge and certification * Excellent presentation skill and with experience in conducting Service Management functional workshops * Ability to communicate on both a technical and project management level * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Business required * Advanced knowledge of project management life cycle, with PMI - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification plus
Responsibilities * Install, configure, maintain, and report on Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping (ADDM) * Perform Asset Discovery, Analysis and Reconciliation * Understand the needs of project team members and adapt ADDM tool usage and outputs to assist them in their roles * Act as ADDM work stream lead * Set up and run the ADDM discovery toolset in designated sites, working closely to identify problems and solutions for extending coverage and accuracy of reporting * Work with subject matter experts stakeholders to conduct service mapping exercises, validating maps against manual inventory and other sources information * Conduct detailed analysis of assets and associated service maps to identify false data and merge it with other data * Analyze ADDM data for evidence of failed network or platform access and engage with other Discovery staff to help validate the asset report and service maps. * Proactively engage with network and platform engineers to troubleshoot problem areas and plan expansion of the ADDM discovery. * Analyze Asset discovery passes, troubleshoot erroneous or incorrectly classified entries, isolate causes of misreporting and pursue resolution with Engineering teams * Develop/modify/enhance Discovery patterns * Develop/document the model process for inventory discovery and reconciliation using the BMC toolset * Plan the deployment of ADDM toolsets in target data center sites * Perform knowledge transfer to clients to administer ADDM tool (eg, patching, housekeeping, backup/restore) * Maintain records of current support issues lodged with BMC * Candidate must be a good communicator with good presence in order to communicate with Process Owners (normally customer role), ADDM and BMC ITSM Remedy Suite implementation teams/Technical consultants and the executive team * Written communication skills need to be well honed in order to communicate with different groups, documentation about the Remedy * Verbal communication need to be well honed to gather and understand the requirements, interact with customer, regarding the project approach
